The department of education says it is satisfied with the way the final matric exams, which finish on Friday, have gone so far.

NELSPRUIT – The final matric examinations entered their last week on Monday. According to the Mpumalanga Department of Education, it is satisfied with the way it has progressed so far.

“There have been no challenges reported since the examination commenced on October 28,” said Mr Jasper Zwane, spokesman for the department.

The department extended its appreciation to everyone who played a pivotal role in the success of the process. “We are thankful to all whose task is to make sure that everything progress as expected, leaving no stone unturned to deliver an incident-free and credible examination,” said Ms Reginah Mhaule, MEC for education.

The national exams draw to a close on Friday, when the last of the grade 12 pupils write hospitality studies, consumer studies, and sport and exercise science papers. On the same day, marking will commence at 18 marking centres across the province. The results will be available on January 7.

“We urge our learners to stay focused and study until the last day of the examinations,” Mhaule said.
