Appeal denied to mastermind in hand-grenade attack

The accused would either have to now make an appeal to the supreme court or could start serving his jail sentence next month.

NELSPRUIT – The mastermind in the Valencia hand-grenade attack has had his appeal denied.
Yegen Naidoo (44) appeared in the Nelspruit High Court on Monday and Judge Ronel Tolmay dismissed the appeal for his sentencing. Naidoo would either have to now make an appeal to the supreme court or could start serving his jail sentence next month.
Tolmay had previously found Negen guilty of conspiring to commit murder and the murder of Ms Patricia Pillay (53) and her granddaughter, Yetska (9).
Naidoo had ordered the hit on them, in a hand-grenade attack at their Valencia home two days before Christmas in 2006.  More details in Tuesday’s edition of Lowvelder
