
GRASKOP – The high profile human trafficking trial failed to start due to a TV been broken today. The TV was used for the under-age victims to testify in camera in the Graskop magistrate court.
Prosecutor Ms Isabet Erwee stated that the court had to postpone the trial until tomorrow.
High profile businessman Mr Lloyd Mabuza (60) and his accomplice Ms Violet Chauke (20) appeared on charges of human trafficking of five girls from Mozambique for sexual purposes.
Both accused had previously pleaded not guilty to all charges. The rest of the trial is being held in camera as the five minor girls are testifying.
The five girls, aged 10 to 16, were kept captive for four years until one of them escaped and got help last year.
