Suspects have been arrested for cable theft which has left Komatipoort without water since last night.

MALALANE – Suspects have been arrested for cable theft which has left Komatipoort without water since last night.

According to the municipal spokesman, Mr Cyril Ripinga, this was the second time the cables have been stolen, and it has affected the supply of water.

Speaking to this publication on Friday morning, Ripinga said that the municipal electricians were already resolving the issue.

Meanwhile Marloth Park residents were facing water shortages, and Ripinga said that this was due to a water-pump failure.

“The Marloth Park area is also experiencing water problems, due to a pump that has sucked in mud and needed to be repaired. Our technical teams are already fixing the problem and we should have it resolved by the end of the day,” he said.

At the time of going to press, the names of the perpetrators have not yet been made known.
