During a burglary this morning at 00:12, a man was shot in the finger during a scuffle with the robbers. Bossies Community Justice and Hi-Tech Security Nelspruit were on the scene.
According to Mr Jacques Meiring of BCJ, it is suspected that the men lay in wait at Nelpark flats after getting rid of the some of the flat’s burglar bars.
The family arrived at home and the husband went to the kitchen. The next moment a burgler climbed through the window and pointed a gun at him. Meiring says the victim’s wife heard was upstairs when she heard a strange sound, descended the stairs to investigate and ran into the second burglar. A scuffle ensued and the husband was shot in the finger.
The suspects fled with cellphones and cash.
