Child-porn case postponed again

A source revealed to Lowvelder that the couple had also apparently hosted swinging sex parties at their home every Tuesday night

MBOMBELA – A couple of Barberton who are accused of having produced child pornography, making use of their own seven-year-old daughter, appeared in court again this week.

The two have been charged with possession, grooming for sexual purposes and manufacture and distribution of child pornography and appeared briefly in the Regional Court on Monday. The case was postponed to August 14 so that psychiatric testing could be carried out on the child and both parents.

During their previous appearance, the prosecutor Ms Elise du Plessis told the court she had received evidence which included pornographic photos of the daughter and the mother, which filled two albums.

They were first arrested last year when a shop assistant at Cash Converters alerted police and security officials when a video of the child was found on a cellphone which they were trying to sell.

A source revealed to Lowvelder that the couple had also apparently hosted swinging sex parties at their home every Tuesday night. These had involved some high-profile people in the area. The accused are currently out on bail of R2 000 each.
