MBOMBELA – The sentencing of a convicted robber of Ngodini was postponed for a month in the Nelspruit Regional Court on Friday. Mokhosonke Comfort Mlombo (29) is one of two men who pleaded innocent when they appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court on December 19, 2013.

He appeared with Mr Velophi Eugene Khumalo (28), his co-accused, on charges of assault and robbery with aggravating circumstances. Khumalo was found not guilty on all charges on Thursday. Mlombo was, however, found guilty.

Both were accused of conspiring to assault Mr Sibusiso Miza Sikhondze on October 27, 2012 in Ngodini. It was alleged that they robbed him of his Fiso tipper truck and threatened him with a firearm, after which they tied him up with cable ties.

Mlombo’s sentencing was postponed to February 12.
