Pinky Strydom’s alleged attackers’ next court date announced

WHITE RIVER – The two men accused of the attack on 87-year-old local resident Ms Pinky Strydom in October last year, will appear in court again later this month.

The two suspects (aged 21 and 27) were arrested on October 20 last year after Strydom was overpowered and assaulted in her house on October 11 last year.

It was reported that her grandson, Mr Roelof Duvenhage, had gone to visit her two days later at 11:30, when it was discovered that she had been attacked. Strydom was rushed to hospital and the incident was reported to the police, who arrested the suspects in Mgcoboneni Trust in Masoyi.

The suspects were charged with attempted murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances when they appeared in court on October 21. Their case had been postponed to March 23.
