CANSA spreads winter warmth

Cansa is doing its part to help chase away the winter chill by getting the pupils well prepared for winter

LYDENBURG – Learners of Enkeldoring Primary School received hand-knitted winter scarves on Monday, April 13 from CANSA Lydenburg.

Cansa is doing its part to help chase away the winter chill by getting the pupils well prepared for winter. Each learner sprayed their hair in support of Cansa Shavathon.

According to chairman of the Cansa Lydenburg branch, Ms Isobel Janse van Rensburg, the aim of the project was to help underprivileged children keep warm during winter.

“We want the community to know that CANSA also cares about other needs besides cancer-related issues.”

The learners were excited to receive the scarves and to have their own Shavathon.

According to Mr Jan Neethling, the principal of the school, Cansa has been supporting the school for years.

“We feel very fortunate that they include our school in projects. Cansa visits to our school educate our learners about cancer and I appreciate that they are learning at a young age,” he explained.

“We would like to say thank you for donating scarves to our learners,” he added.

CANSA would like to thank everyone who helped to knit the scarves and make the day possible.

“Thank you to Desire de Swart, Trudie Viljoen, Arina van Wyk and Roelien Vorster.”

“We would like to urge the community join us for the first CANSA Relay For Life Lydenburg, which will be held on May 5. Those who are interested, can call Janse van Rensburg on 084-329-8737.
