Update: Pinky Strydom’s alleged attackers’ case postponed

The two accused's versions previously contradicted each other.

MBOMBELA – The men who allegedly attacked well-known White River resident Ms Pinky Strydom (87) in October last year, briefly appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court recently.

They were charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances after they were caught last year. The arrest on October 20 followed a brutal attack on Strydom.

On October 11, the elderly lady was overpowered and assaulted in her White River home.

Her grandson, who went to Strydom’s home two days later, found his grandmother seriously injured in her bedroom.

She was rushed to hospital and the police investigated the case, resulting in the arrests of Mr Steve Khoza and Mr Milton Masuku.

In April this year, Lowvelder reported that the two accused had to appoint two attorneys. This had to be done because their versions of what happened on that day did not correspond. When they returned to court last week, the case was postponed to September 16.
