Stolen goods found must be identified
Barberton SAPS management requests that community members who have been victims of crime, especially burglary, come forward to look at the seized goods.
On Saturday at approximately 21:00 a Barberton SAPS official received a tip-off about a shack in Msholozi where stolen goods were being kept.
The information was true and the stolen property found on the premises was seized. The 25-year-old suspect, France Mondlane, an illegal immigrant, appeared in the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on Monday. He was charged with possession of suspected stolen property as well as entering and remaining in the country without documents.
The outcome of Monday’s hearing was not available at the time of going to print. The investigation is ongoing. Barberton SAPS management requests that community members who have been victims of crime, especially burglary, come forward to look at the seized goods. On identification, proof of ownership needs to be given. Among these were bags full of clothes, power tools, sports equipment, garden tools and furniture.
