Church’s annual mini market a great success

LYDENBURG – The Volle Evangelie Kerk’s annual mini market was a huge success. Residents descended in numbers on the Vollies market which took place on Wednesday April 27.

The event catered for the entire family and everyone enjoyed themselves. According to Past André Hanekom, this year’s market has improved significantly on the previous one.

“Everything went according to plan: almost all our stalls had sold out their items by the end of the day. Some of the food stalls even had to go and stock up on more supplies because people needed more food and we had to make sure we provided enough.”

The day started with a boere breakfast in the church hall. A wide array of products was available ranging from food to home appliances and various accessories.

Those who adore reptiles had the chance to touch snakes and to learn more about them. Music lovers enjoyed live performances by local artists.

“This year the stalls were a hive of activity right throughout the day. The public really came out in support of our cause. It was truly a great day for us as a church because our fund-raising turned out well,” said Hanekom.

All the money raised will be used for church expenditures and a building project to construct classrooms for the Sunday school.

“As Lydenburg Volle Evangelie Kerk we appreciate the support from the community and we want to thank everyone who joined us in this mission to raise funds,” Hanekom said.
