Fruit and vegetable informal traders resumed trading following the relaxation of trading restrictions recently.

These informal traders are expected to obtain permits in order to comply with Covid-19 trading regulations.

MEC Nandi Ndalane has praised the informal traders.

“I am quite pleased with the cooperation demonstrated by these informal traders. We are encouraged by those who are complying and are urging those who are interested in trading to obtain permits from their municipalities and provide food for our people,” said Ndalane.

Ndalane explained that informal traders play a huge role in the food supply chain in our province. “Many of our people depend on informal traders to obtain produce and therefore it is important for those who want to trade to obtain the permits and comply with Covid-19 regulations.”
