Hazyview Business Chamber kicks off month with meeting

The Hazyview Business Chamber (HBC) invited the public to attend a meeting, during which social developments of the tourist town were discussed with stakeholders and members of the municipality, at Perry's Bridge on Monday February 28.

“This meeting was not only for Hazyview residents and stakeholders, but for the whole Lowveld,” said André Visser, one of the founding members of the HBC.

The goal of the meeting was to inform the communities that they have rights, and their opinions and ideas are worth a lot to the development of businesses.

“Effective collaboration between the community, business sectors and municipalities, instead of fighting legal disputes in court, is far more productive in addressing the basic needs of local communities and regenerating the growth of local economies,” said Visser.

The chamber is working on a platform to provide support by gathering initial information and establish a discussion on the purpose-made online forums, but from there the local entities are still expected to take charge to ensure the strategy for local economic plans, in partnership with the local municipality council, gets implemented.
