Fetakgomo Tubatse athlete, Tebogo Pulusa, excelled in the 99th Comrades Marathon that took place on Sunday, June 14.
Pulusa obtained 10th position, completing the race in 05:29:40.
It was a grueling ‘up run’ that started in Durban and finished in Pietermaritzburg, covering a distance of approximately 85.7km.
This internationally celebrated race continues to inspire thousands across the country and the continent. Pulusa who hails from Ga-Maphopha in Steelpoort only started running marathons in 2012. Speaking to Steelburger/Lydenburg News he attributed his success to dedication and commitment. “I train daily to keep fit. I was ready for this race and will push to remain in the top 10 in 2027.”
Pulusa added, “I am grateful to my fellow runners and also for the support I got from the local residents, like Mr Johannes Mogowane, who assisted me with the bookings, camping and registrations for the race. I am thankful for his support before and during, and after the race.”
Pulusa added that running is his favourite sport.
“I also enjoy watching soccer and I am a die-hard Kaizer Chiefs fan. I urge locals to participate in athletics to stay fit and avoid illegal activities such as drugs and alcohol.”
For finishing 10th, Pulusa, took home R39 000 and other goodies.
