Recognition from Wits Students in Mining Engineering Society

DCM’s netball and soccer teams were recently honoured to participate in the Wits Students in Mining Engineering Society’s prestigious Annual Ted Edwards Sports Day, held at the University of the Witwatersrand on July 26.

The event brought together various mining companies and academic institutions to promote engagement through sport. While the soccer team was eliminated during the knockout stage, the netball team showcased outstanding performance, securing first position and proudly bringing home the floating trophy.

Intermine tournament success

Building on this momentum, DCM once again showcased its sporting spirit at the intermine tournament, held in Springs on September 27, hosted by Gold One Platinum Mine.

The soccer team displayed commendable skill and teamwork, achieving third position and raising the DCM sporting profile with exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

Looking ahead, anticipation is building for the next inter-mines tournament, scheduled for November 15, to be hosted by Zondereinde Platinum Mine in Northam. DCM teams are preparing to build on their success and continue flying the company flag high.
