With hundreds of men joining, the event proved to be a great success, with attendees
returning year after year.

Delegates arrived on Friday afternoon, and those who stayed for the weekend pitched their tents at the designated campsite. Pastor Johan Fullard kicked off the evening with a special message, and the men gathered to worship, followed by a braai.

On Saturday morning, attendees held communion, led by Jannie Moolman, followed by sermons by MMC chairperson Kobus Pretorius and ministry leader Juan van Tonder.

The conference concluded on Sunday morning with a family service inviting women and children. Guest speaker, actor and founder of the Fatherhood Foundation Zane Meas delivered a sermon about men’s and women’s roles in the household. With his humour and powerful preaching, he kept attendees listening attentively. Couples walked to the front to share their affirmations.

“We are grateful for everyone who attended,” said Pretorius. “Many men were touched and found answers to unanswered questions. They were strengthened by hearing the testimonies of other men and simply by fellowshipping in a safe environment.”

One of the attendees, Henk Beukes, told Lowvelder that he was grateful for the event and that it was a useful opportunity for men to gather and talk about the emotions they suppress.
