Man hit by lightning during storm

The incident occurred at Timbali Technology Incubator where the victim, a man, is an employee.

MBOMBELA – A man was struck by lightning during the storm that hit the Lowveld this afternoon.

The incident occurred at Timbali Technology Incubator where the victim, a man, is an employee.

According to Mr Greg Wilcox, branch manager of ER24 Lowveld, he had no pulse when they arrived at the scene, but they were able to resuscitate him. They were assisted by paramedics of Netcare911.

He was taken to Mediclinic Nelspruit.

Various trees have also been uprooted during the storm, which lasted about 30 minutes. Small hailstones fell in parts of the CBD.

Electricity supply was also interrupted in parts of the city, of which some has been restored.
