Elections 2019: Voting proceeding smoothly at Nkomazi voting stations
No disruptive incidents have been reported at voting stations in Nkomazi so far and voters have only three and a half hours left to vote.

MALALANE – There is just three and a half hours of voting left and so far everything seems to be running smoothly at voting stations across Nkomazi.
While some voters queued at stations when they opened at 07:00, the majority have been steadily trickling in throughout the day.

Party representatives noted that a number of people only voted nationally, indicating that they had moved since the last registration weekend or were tourists visiting the area.
Many people also brought their children along and voters ranged from first-time voters to elderly, eager to still have their voices heard.
Police were also out in full force, with a few members assigned to each voting station to keep an eye on proceedings.

Although there were service delivery protests in Mjejane and Ward 1 in Block C in the week and past month, no disturbances were reported today.
Once the voting stations close, the votes will be counted and verified before the results are sent to the national and provincial operations centres. The data will then immediately be available on the IEC’s website, here.
Keep an eye on the Corridor Gazette website for regular election and results updates. Pictures of voters and a full report of the local, provincial and national elections will be published in next week’s edition.
