MANDELA DAY 2021: Together we can ignite the flame of ubuntu
This Nelson Mandela Day, the call to action for the people of South Africa is for each of us to ignite the flame of ubuntu and tackle food insecurity by working together.

In support of this call, Riverside CID, in collaboration with businesses in the precinct, came together to contribute towards and pack 75 parcels for children in need on July 21.
The initiative enjoyed great success, and all who were involved in the act of kindness experienced profound joy.
Each parcel was carefully packaged with love and accompanied by a handwritten note for the recipient.
The notes included motivational phrases such as “You are so special” and “You are important”.
Through these cards of encouragement, the Riverside CID team hopes to make these children feel special.
Emnotweni StayEasy and Southern Sun Hotels joined in the efforts by donating extra items for the parcels, and Makro Nelspruit offered its support by ensuring all the items were procured at cost.
Feed the Need has a large network of children and families in need that it supports, and the Mandela Day project was just one of many initiatives it is handling.
Feed the Need does wonderful work within the community, and anyone who can support it are encouraged to do so, as it is a NPO which relies solely on donations and goodwill from the public.
