Two burnt bodies found in dumping site near Acornhoek

Following the discovery of two burnt bodies near Acornhoek, police are attempting to find the deceased's families.

Two burnt bodies were discovered on a dumping site in Casteel outside Acornhoek on Monday, January 9.

According to a statement by the office of the provincial commissioner in Mpumalanga, the police were alerted to the incident by a community member.

“Upon arrival at the scene, some medical practitioners were summoned who certified both male victims dead,” the statement read.

The carcases of three cattle were also found next to the deceased.

The police are in the process of finding the victims’ families to identify them.

“The motive behind the killing is unknown at the moment and pending investigation. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”

The provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela, has strongly condemned the senseless killing of the two victims.
