Autism foundation hosts family day in White River

The main aim of the event was to bring families together and create awareness for the autism community. Cindy Coetzee, the event’s organiser, said the Indigo Smiles Autism Foundation would host more events in the near future.

It was a day filled with laughter and joy at the second annual Lowveld Indigo Smiles Autism Foundation’s Family Fun Day held at the Nyoni Education Centre in White River on Saturday April 13.

The aim of the event was to bring families together in the Lowveld and to create publicity for autism in the community, as April is World Autism Awareness Month.

The kids were spoilt with bouncy castles, games, arts and crafts stations and a special gift for every child.

Indigo Smiles Autism Foundation’s founder, Cindy Coetzee, said the event was the organisation’s second family fun day in the Lowveld, and was hosted to allow families and professionals to connect and share resources that can assist those with children on the autism spectrum and/or with other conditions.
