Penryn learners showcase their best artworks

The artworks on display showcase the best that the Penryn learners have to offer.

The Penryn exhibition space was filled with excitement and intrigue.

Pupils, teachers and families took to the floor to enjoy the various bodies of art, engaging in conversations about the art and the learners.

The guests were welcomed with complimentary drinks and snack boxes, which were organised by the Penryn Parents Association team. As the evening went on, an auction was also hosted by the enigmatic auctioneer, Brian Edwards.

The Penryn Art Exhibition is a dynamic display that features artwork from learners across Grades Eight to 12, each bringing unique perspectives and creativity to the showcase. The exhibition highlights the journey of young artists as they develop their skills and express their ideas through various artistic mediums.

The exhibition provides a platform for the young artists to share their vision and inspires them to continue honing their craft, showcasing the vast potential that art holds for personal and academic development.

While everybody undoubtedly shines during the event, the main stars of the exhibition were the Grade 12s. The culmination of their year’s work is proudly exhibited and explores the theme of ‘Truth vs Fiction’. The artworks invite viewers into an exploration of reality and imagination.

Through diverse mediums such as paintings, sculpture, digital art, ink illustrations and mixed media, the learners presented works that challenge perceptions and question the boundaries between what is real and what is imagined.

The exhibition encourages viewers to reflect on the nature of truth, the allure of fiction, and the spaces where they intersect. The learners drew inspiration from contemporary issues and personal narratives, which offer a rich and diverse tapestry of interpretations.

The art exhibition is open to the public in the Penreach Exhibition Hall from 09:00 to 15:00 until the end of October, and selected artworks are for sale.
