Rothman duo does it again
This win earned Charlie Rothman Sr his 23rd national title in this sport.
In an exciting display of skill and family spirit, the father-and-son racing duo Charlie Rothman Sr and Jr took home top honours at the latest World of Motorsport Z.A. (Womza) rally series event held in Rustenburg on November 2.
Both competed in their respective categories, each achieving outstanding victories that proved the family’s racing legacy.

Charlie Sr, a seasoned racer with a track record that spans over two decades, secured victory in the 2.1 class category, expertly piloting a 1660 race car with the smallest motor in the competition. Despite his vehicle’s comparative disadvantage, he dominated the track, earning his 23rd national title across various oval track events.

Meanwhile, the 12-year-old Charlie Jr continued to prove himself as one of the sport’s rising stars. Competing in the entry-class division, he showcased skills well beyond his years, winning his category and maintaining his ranking as the number-one competitor in this division, ensuring that the Rothman racing legacy continues to flourish.
The November 2 event was a thrilling showcase for fans in Rustenburg, who witnessed the Rothmans’ remarkable achievements on the track. Both father and son are expected to continue pushing the boundaries in their respective divisions, adding more accolades to their already impressive racing careers.
For Charlie Sr, it was another feather in a storied cap, while for Charlie Jr, it marked a milestone in a promising career that appears destined for success.
