Successful businesswoman shares her techniques with others during networking session in White River

The guest speaker was Dolly Mbuyane, a founder of multiple companies, who had a lot of wisdom to share with attendees.

Businesswomen from all walks of life came together for an inspirational talk during the South African Council of Business Women (SACBW) Nelspruit’s sisterhood networking session. This event was held at Citrus Restaurant at Bagdad Centre on March 13.

These monthly networking sessions bring local businesswomen together to learn new ideas, support one another’s businesses and give one another advice.

The SACBW Nelspruit won the branch of the year award last year. And they will consequently host the AGM as well as the national gala event in Mbombela later this year.

The guest speaker was Dolly Mbuyane, a founder of multiple companies. She is also a teacher by profession, a facilitator, a coach, a wife, a mother and a pastor. She is originally from Marite outside Hazyview.
Her companies include Nozihle Cleaning Services and Radiant Minds.

Mbuyane presentation focused on various issues, such as managing businesses and seizing opportunities. She shared that owning a business is like riding a lion.

“Just imagine riding a lion and when people look at you, they think ‘wow’, that looks great. But on the inside, you are wondering how or why you got yourself this lion and how you can keep it from eating you. Because if you make one mistake, it will eat you, yet people on the outside are admiring you.

“As business owners we are always talking about risks. You should divide your investment into different places in order to minimise the risk. We cannot completely take away the risks, but every day we try minimise them.”
She urged the women to build their own empires and reminded them that this will not look the same for everyone.

“We are going to take one step at a time and the steps will lead you to your empire. My tagline is: ‘Walk with an open mind so that everywhere you go, your mind is open to new opportunities and open to learning’.”
