UPDATE: Electricity restored after ‘big-bang’ in Mbombela suburb

Electricity has been restored to all areas of West Acres after 6 hours.

Electricity has been restored to all areas of West Acres, in Mbombela.

This follows a double explosion at the West Acres substation at around 17:00 that left sections of the suburb without electricity for hours.

The City of Mbombela technicians quickly jumped in to investigate and restore power.
