The community of Hazyview came in numbers to support the fundraising for Summerhill Preparatory School.

Summerhill Preparatory School’s Music Mania event was a resounding fundraising success.

Hazyview’s Numbi Hotel came alive with the sound of music while the guests feasted on a mouth-watering three-course dinner.

According to the principal, Cheryl Calmeyer, this is an annual fundraising effort, as the school receives no government funding.

Calmeyer thanked the school’s parents, sponsors and the wider community for their support in ensuring the success of the event.

“This shows that residents in the area value the highly important foundational phase of education. As a school we are encouraged to do even more because we are supported. I would especially like to thank the Summerhill Parent-Teacher Association for their contribution to ensuring the event’s success,” she said.

The programme director, the talented Kazlo Holtzhausen of Musiekpret, once again proved why he is such a popular entertainer.

Music Mania was a music quiz evening celebrating music in all its forms: local is lekker, movies, one-hit wonders, and artist and song names.

The guests dressed creatively under the theme ‘Go wild’ and there were cheetahs, zebras, game rangers and a lot of leopard print cooking up a storm on the dance floor.
