IN PHOTOS | Hazyview Summerhill Prep’s brave explorers meet reptiles

The grade 000’s and R's at Summerhill Preparatory School conquered their fears at the reptile park.

Summerhill Preparatory School’s grades 000 to Rs pupils recently enjoyed a special treat and informative visit to Perry’s Bridge Reptile Park.

For many, it was the ideal opportunity to conquer their fears and the Summerhill staff beamed with pride as most of the children bravely reached out to touch a snake.

This courage and willingness to engage with the unknown showcased their adventurous spirits.

The patient and knowledgeable guide ensured the children would not forget their introduction to the amazing reptilian world.

All the excitement ended with delicious pizzas at Topolino’s in Hazyview. Here, the young ones discussed their new knowledge and bravery, using their newly acquired vocabulary to the teachers’ delight.

True to Summerhill style, the children were well behaved, asking thoughtful and engaging questions, which impressed their hosts.

This trip was another wonderful example of the benefits of learning outside a classroom. It provided a unique and memorable experience for every child, which Summerhill has become known for.

The preschool teachers who meticulously planned this trip were profusely thanked for the fantastic opportunity and successful day.

Their commitment ensured every child was involved and enriched by this learning adventure. It was a day of brave firsts, fascinating facts and full tummies after a perfect preschool outing.
