Beloved Mbombelan influencer dies in head-on collision

Moses Sibiya was known for his vibrant presence online and singing at funerals

Well-known social media influencer Moses ‘Lady Mo’ Sibiya has been identified as the person who died in an accident near the MRTT yesterday, July 4.

The head-on collision involved a Kia Picanto and a minibus taxi.

Martin Jeffrey of Emer-G-Med responded to the scene.

He told Lowvelder that five of the Kia’s occupants were injured and were treated at the scene before being transported to hospital. However, the driver was declared dead on the scene.

He also said the taxi driver, who was alone, sustained critical injuries and was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison’s spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, confirmed Sibiya’s death.

He said the road had been closed for a few hours while emergency services attended to the scene, but that it had been reopened in the late afternoon.

According to several Facebook followers, Sibiya touched many lives with his talent.

He was getting bookings to be a programme director during functions, especially funerals.

Lady Mo was also an upcoming musician with his latest song “Dumi Dumi Dumi”.Mmusi said the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
