Summit ignites financial empowerment in Hazyview

A key focus of the summit was to equip attendees to address the lack of financial knowledge and discipline in rural communities.

L&L Investments and Loans hosted a successful annual summit at ANEW Resort on Saturday, September 20, bringing together financial experts, business leaders and community members to address the challenge of financial illiteracy.

The summit, a cornerstone of the company’s commitment to social upliftment, aimed to empower rural communities with the financial skills needed to achieve economic freedom.

The event attracted a diverse mix of local business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs and non-profit representatives, fostering a vibrant space for networking and collaboration.

According to Lungelo Khosa, CEO of L&L Investments and Loans, the summit was born out of a deep concern about the lack of financial knowledge and discipline in rural communities.

Khosa emphasised that poor financial decisions often result in long-term hardship, noting that this challenge is a global crisis.
“Our intention is to bring knowledge and freedom to people who need to develop financial discipline,” Khosa said.

He added that the key objective of the summit was to encourage the circulation of wealth and economic activity among underprivileged communities.

Khosa stressed the importance of understanding how money moves within an economy, and how individuals can contribute to a more robust local and global financial system.

“We had to ensure that they fully understand the importance of circulating [resources] and how we can make our country and the world a better place with good economic circulation as human beings.”

The keynote address was delivered by Dr Elijah Maswanganyi, a renowned global speaker with extensive experience in guiding businesses, governments and families.

He echoed the summit’s central theme, asserting that the circulation of wealth within a community is crucial for collective success.

He shared an inspiring message about perseverance and resilience, saying: “Success consists of getting up just one time more than you fall down. I would like to emphasise that success is a journey of continuous effort, not a single leap.”

He concluded his powerful address by focusing on the importance of self-identity.

“Who you think you are is vital for your success in life. I must also say that one’s perception of themselves – their identity – fundamentally determines their capacity for wealth, success and fulfillment. Your identity affects every relationship you have, and thus, your entire life.”

The knowledge shared is expected to spark lasting change, fostering empowerment, financial literacy and prosperity within the community.
