The magical dance formed part of the school's arts and education programme, allowing learners to apply skills learnt in creative arts.

Laerskool Numbi recently hosted a spectacular dance revue, showcasing talented learners, community spirit, and the school’s commitment to holistic education.

The 220 learners from Grades One to Seven clearly enjoyed performing with enthusiastic applause fuelling their energy.

Positive feedback from the parents confirmed that the event was well organised and truly memorable.

According to the principal, Nkosingiphile Khoza, the attendance figures reflected the revue’s growing popularity, with close to 500 tickets sold and many VIP guests in attendance.

Each grade’s performance was inspired by a well-known Disney movie, with learners telling the stories behind familiar characters through song and dance.

The revue forms a cornerstone of the school’s arts and education programme, allowing learners to apply skills learnt in creative arts – including movement, rhythm, expression and performance – in a real-world setting.

Khoza said the programme goes beyond the stage, fostering life skills, building confidence, and instilling pride and self-assurance.

Head organiser Justine Engelbrecht directed the teachers and learners to collaborate effectively, enhancing communication and problem-solving skills.

Discipline and dedication were cultivated through regular rehearsals, promoting punctuality, focus and the importance of preparation.

Working in groups taught learners teamwork, mutual support, and how to work towards a common goal.

The children also contributed ideas for dances and costumes, helping them interpret music and express ideas through movement.

A dress rehearsal ensured a polished final production.

Khoza thanked the parents for their vital role in supporting the revue, which included preparing costumes and make-up, while teachers oversaw choreography, rehearsals, and set design. The staff managed the logistics such as sound, lighting and seating, contributing to a professional and safe environment.
