SPCA Nelspruit mourns loss of beloved former caregiver

SPCA Nelspruit announces the passing of devoted former team member Lazarus Langa.

The SPCA Nelspruit is deeply saddened to announce the passing of a cherished member of its family, Lazarus Langa.

He dedicated 14 years of his life to the welfare and care of animals at the SPCA before retiring in March 2023 due to health issues.

According to the branch’s chairperson, Lize Pienaar, Langa witnessed many staff and committee members come and go during his time at the organisation.

“Yet through all the changes, he remained a constant source of wisdom and guidance.

He was a humble and patient soul who, perhaps without realising it, taught all of us so much about life and dedication.

Langa was more than just an employee; he was a true advocate for every creature that passed through our doors.

He approached his work with unwavering professionalism and genuine warmth, treating every animal with love, respect, and profound compassion,” she said.

Pienaar added that Langa’s gentle presence brought comfort to both animals and colleagues.

“We face challenges, celebrate victories, and care for animals together. Through this shared mission, we grow close as friends and family, and the loss of Langa is felt deeply by all who knew him. We share in their grief and celebrate the wonderful life of a man who made an indelible mark on our organisation and on the lives of countless animals. We will forever cherish the memory of his dedication and kindness,” she said.

She added that the SPCA Nelspruit extends its heartfelt condolences to Langa’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
