Fuel shortages and price hikes in Mbombela

The petrol price increase is caused by the ongoing war in the Middle East, from which much of the world’s oil is sourced.

Motorists are flocking to BP and other stations to fill their tanks ahead of tonight’s fuel price increase, as a diesel shortage continues to worsen in the area.

Several filling stations in Mbombela have already run dry.

Many of those that still have stock have reduced purchase limits from 200 liters to 100 liters per customer.

Furthermore, bulk purchases are currently being prohibited at most stations.

While some stations have temporarily reduced their prices per litre to assist motorists, others are maintaining prices above R25.00 per litre.
