Penryn Prep in the running for a million rand

The team of the Lets Play Physed Challenge visited Penryn Preparatory College to do a fitness and obstacle course with the grade four pupils.

SuperSport in partnership with the departments of basic education and sport and recreation as well as the Physical Education Institute of South Africa, Unicef and Active Education, has challenged primary schools throughout the country to prove their fitness.

The main objective is to reinforce the instruction of curriculum-oriented physical education and to promote physical activity in all primary schools.

The challenge is a nationwide event targeted at 10-year-olds which in 2015 reached 477 primary schools, involving more than 40 3000 children and was part of the 10th year anniversary celebrations of Let’s Play.

A total of 1 000 primary schools will compete in this challenge this year.

The fittest primary school in each province will compete for the title and the grand prize of a R1,3 million multipurpose sport court, sponsored by the sports trust, to be built at the winning school.
