The primary schoolchildren of the Lowveld invited to help Airlink Pumas defeat DHL Western Province

Laerskool Laeveld, Laerskool Nelspruit and Laerskool Witrivier have informed Lowvelder that they will be taking part in the Clash of the Schools.

The Airlink Pumas need you, the primary schools of the Lowveld.

This journalist has spoken to many a rugby coach and player. They all say the same – when on the field a vital component in a team’s ability to dig deep – to find that something special that will make them one or more points better than their opponents  –  is the energy of the spectators.

This journalist has also been to enough primary sports events in the Lowveld to know that our local schools know how to create a vibe, how to make a noise that is powered by emotion.

The Airlink Pumas will face DHL Western Province in a Carling Currie Cup match at Mbombela Stadium at 19:00 on Friday May 13.

If they win the match they will move up to fourth place on the log table. The Pumas need the help of the primary schools in the Lowveld. They need your gees.

The Clashes of the Schools has R5 000 up for grabs for the schools with the most attendees, the schools with the best war cry and the school that displays the best spirit.

H20 has also sponsored a water cooler, valued at R7 500, for the primary school that adheres to the above.

Pumas director of rugby, Jimmy Stonehouse and captain, Willie Engelbrecht, have put this challenge to local primary schools.

Despite the Pumas’ 37-11 win over Western Province at DHL Stadium on March 23 and home ground advantage, the Pumas will not be underestimating the visitors. Friday’s match is going to be an extremely tough challenge.

Your school’s Pumas Clash of the Schools geesspan will make a difference.

Schools can email marketing @pumas.co.za to be part of the Clashes of the Schools.
