Du Toit Smuts and Lowvelder charity golf day back again to make a difference
The annual Du Toit Smuts and Lowvelder day makes significant contributions to the charities that it supports, thanks to participating golfers and sponsors.
It is now only one week until Mbombela Golf Club becomes the setting for a Lowveld sporting tradition that has stood the test of time. Golfers will tee up and tee off at the Du Toit Smuts & Partners Attorneys and Lowvelder Charity Golf Day for the 23rd time on Friday, October 10.
Over the years it has proved a testament to the Lowveld ethos and holds a special place in the hearts of local business leaders, organisations and golf enthusiasts. It’s a day that perfectly blends every golfer’s inner competitor with their desire to make a difference within the community.
Its community impact is what truly makes this day so special. Proceeds from the Du Toit Smuts & Partners Attorneys and Lowvelder Charity Golf Day will benefit Laeveldrus, the Dasha Foundation and Huis Betlehem; three local organisations providing essential services in disability support, child welfare and shelter care. Every swing and sponsorship contributes directly to these causes.

While the tee boxes have been filled with more than 100 passionate golfers, you are still able to come on board and join this year’s golf day. According to Lizelle Douglass of Du Toit Smuts, there is still a tee box or two available to sponsor, and prizes – as well, as any donations – are still more than welcome.
Contributions toward prize-giving can be golf gear, vouchers or any unique items. Every little bit goes a long way to ensuring the three beneficiary organisations receive all the possible help they can get.

The format for this year’s golf day is a betterball, offering up a strategic, fun and engaging round for players of all skill levels. Thanks to Mbombela Golf Club grounds team’s hard work behind the scenes this year, the course is in excellent condition and the stakes are high.
MRA Insurance Brokers has put up a R100 000 prize for any golfer who manages a hole-in-one on the challenging 13th hole.
Standard Bank is the sponsor of the evening function, rounding off the day with a celebratory gathering for players, partners and supporters. Entertainment will be provided by Pieter Rischmuller to ensure the evening is kept fun and lively right throughout.
