Lydenburg High School athletes excel to new heights nationally

The school could not be prouder of its athletes after the 2022 athletics season.

Mthokozisi Ndlovu won ninth overall in the South African Schools Championships in Germiston on Friday March 18.
He competed in the 300m hurdles, boys u/15.

According to his coach, former Springbok hurdle champion Rina van Heerden, he missed the finals with seconds to spare.
Ntiyiso Nkantano won a sixth place in the boys u/17, 400m hurdles. He won gold in the u/17 boys relay.

Thapelo Moloi also had an excellent season.
This u/15 athlete won a fifth place in long jump, and a bronze in the 100m relay in Germiston.

Earlier this month, Thapelo won gold at the Mpumalanga Athletics Chamionships for the 100m sprint, boys u/15. He was invited to be part of the Mpumalanga relay team to compete in Mbombela at the end of April.

Lydenburg High School said it was extremely proud of all its athletes and that they had had an excellent athletic season

Jessica Annandale.

Jessica Annandale won a fifth place in high jump on Friday.
During the Mpumalanga Championships, leading up to the SA’s, she won a gold medal in the girls u/19 high jump.
