Global Macadamias Golf Day raises R100 000 for Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa
September is International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and this year, CHOC benefitted from the inaugural Global Macs Golf Day.
The inaugural Global Macadamias Golf Day raised R100 000 for the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC).
The event was held at Mbombela Golf Club on Thursday, September 4.
CHOC has been a pillar of strength and hope for more than four decades, walking alongside children, teenagers and their families affected by childhood cancer and life-threatening blood disorders.
CHOC provides essential practical and emotional support to those navigating this difficult journey. This includes accommodation close to treatment centres, nutritious meals, transport assistance and psychosocial support to help ease both the financial and emotional burdens that come with treatment.
“The work of CHOC is made possible through generous donations and fundraising efforts such as Global Macadamias Golf Day. Initiatives like this not only generate vital funds to keep services free for families, but also inspire communities to come together for something greater than themselves,” said Taryn Seegers, communications co-ordinator of CHOC.

For this organisation, every journey is a reminder that childhood cancer is never faced in isolation. With care, awareness, advocacy and community support, CHOC continues to bring hope and make a lasting difference to children – and those who care for them – across South Africa.
