WESSA planning another concert

Do you remember the Freshlyground concert at the Casterbridge Museum in 2011?

Well, WESSA Lowveld is planning another Concert for Conservation in the Casterbridge Museum at 6pm on Saturday 24 August 2013.

We feature on Jason Hartman’s nationwide motorcycle tour called Rock n Ride for Rhino (RNR4R).  Jason is an avid conservationist and biker.  He conceptualized the Rock ‘n Ride 4 Rhino project, which combines the power of these passions.  The RNR4R tour is an epic 15,000+ km motorcycle route around Southern Africa in the shape of a rhino’s head (see the pic below).  There are three other members in the Jason Hartman Band:  Scott Hartman, Jason’s brother on drums and vocals, Sam Hartman, Jason’s father on guitar and vocals and Quinton Askess on bass.

Tickets for the concert are on sale at Green Door Casterbridge, Riverside Mall Information, Crossing Superspar and Country Flowers at the Pick ‘n Pay Centre in White River.  The cost of a ticket is R120.  VIP tables on the upper balcony will cost R300 per person.  If you are interested in putting together a VIP table for 10 people please contact Tracey Russell for further information and bookings on 076 702 3540.

Once again proceeds from our concert will go towards WESSA’s Rhino initiative.  Are you aware that in the last two years WESSA has been recognised by 3 awards for rhino anti-poaching interventions?  In 2012, WESSA Lowveld was joint runner up in the NGO category for The Game Rangers Association of  Africa annual awards for our contribution to Rhino Conservation.  And in 2013 WESSA’s rhino poaching interventions were recognised at the Mail & Guardians 2013 Greening the Future Awards.  Project Rhino KZN, of which WESSA is a founding member, was the winning project in the awards’ Rhino Rescue Category.  WESSA was also runner up in the same category for the Game Reserves United (GRU) project.
