Best of luck to 2013 matric learners

Do not leave open spaces in your answer sheet, rather write what comes to mind

SJ Mphahlele of Praktiseer writes:

Charles Dickens in the novel, A Tale of Two Cities wrote, “I can see him winning it so well, that my name is made illustrious by the light his. In the path that was once mine”. To the matrics of 2013, we say you have weathered countless negative storms to reach where you are. Do not let it slip away in the last minutes. Focus and nothing else. To reach where you are is an indication of your ability to pass the hurdle called matric. Focus on doing so well that your name is made illustrious by your efforts. Make sure that your name is not forgotten when names are called in January by higher institutions. Relax, sleep well and read. In the examination chamber, read your questions twice or thrice for understanding and apply your mind. Do not leave open spaces in your answer sheet, rather write what comes to mind. Your books are your only loyal friend. Go back to them when doing revision, they will correct you in the knowledge of silence. Remember that lazy dreams produce lazy results. Hold on to your dreams in this difficult period of your life. Do not look back! Unless you want to go that way.
