A young mother was brutally murdered in June while a well-known farmer saved his own and his wive's lives in another attack.
• June 4: Inwoners van Graskop was vir ‘n dag sonder water en ‘n werkende riool-afvoersisteem omdat Thaba Chweu Munisipaliteit nie sy agterstallige rekening aan Eskom betaal het nie. Die munisipaliteit was bewus dat Eskom die krag sou afsny, maar het nagelaat om inwoners in te lig. ‘n Deel van die skuld is betaal en die kragtoevoer is deur die loop van die dag herstel.
• June 7: A court date was finally set for the fight regarding Nelspruit’s name change. The Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Commerce confirmed that their legal team would take on the government from August 28 in the High Court in Pretoria.
• June 11: A young mother, Ms. Melinda Lee Bam, was killed on a game farm near Tzaneen, leaving behind her two young daughters. The attackers ransacked the house but fled with only a cellphone, bread, some money and a container of peanut butter. Her new love, Mr. Francois Visagie, sustained several wounds to the leg during the attack.

• June 14: A well-known Malalane businessman saved his own and his wife’s lives by killing a robber and wounding another during a farm attack. He was shot in the chest and recuperated in Mediclinic Nelspruit’s ICU. The police were in the process of linking the suspects with several other armed attacks.
• June 18: The Springboks’ victory against Scotland at Mbombela Stadium was an unforgettable experience for Lowvelders. The day was, however, marred by a spectator death and violence inside and outside the stadium.
• June 21: The safety of motorists at the roadworks on the R40 to Hazyview, was questioned after a botched hijacking and an accident where a person died. The managing engineers on the project told the public to exercise precautions concerning safety and follow the safety signs and speed limits.

• June 25: Ses vermeende plaasaanvallers is deur plaaslike boere en polisie in Schoemanskloof aangekeer. Een van die honde-eenheid se honde is in die nek geskiet, maar het dit oorleef.

• The two men found guilty of murdering Ehlanzeni ANC chief whip, Mr Johan Ndlovu, were sentenced to 40 years imprisonment each. The DA was highly concerned over allegations that “powerful politicians” gave instructions for Ndlovu to be murdered.
• June 28: Two corruption cases relating to R1, 063 billion which involved Kaizer Chiefs Boss, Mr Bobby Motaung, were struck off the court roll due to the state’s negligence. The cases involved charges related to the construction of the Mbombela Stadium.
