KIA’s K2700 light commercial vehicle (LCV) has been well received in the local market since its launch in September 2001. To date, the K2700 has been one of KIA Motors South Africa’s (KMSA’s) best-selling vehicles, and remains as popular as ever.

“The K2700, with its 1,3-ton load capacity, offers a flexible solution to any business – from the largest organisation to a small business owner,” comments David Sieff, marketing director, KMSA. The current line-up of the K2700 consists of three derivatives: the Workhorse Tipper, Dropside and Chassis Cab.

This month, KMSA will be adding the new K2500 which will be available as a Workhorse Dropside and has a one-ton loading capacity. It features a brand-new turbocharged diesel engine producing power of 96kW@3800r/min and 255Nm@1500-3500r/min. A new six-speed manual transmission results in smoother gear changes and improved fuel economy.
Compared to the K2700, the K2500 features slight cosmetic changes to the exterior, with a body coloured front bumper as the most noticeable difference.

The K2500 will only be available in a single rear wheel.

On a features level, the K2500 is similarly specified to the K2700, with the exception of newly added remote central locking, which is standard on this newcomer.

Furthermore, similar to the K2700, it features adjustable headrests, a battery saver, cloth upholstery seats, electric windows, a heater, height adjustable headlights, power steering, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel and a full size spare wheel.
