Ramps-to-Runway models shine in annual exam
On Saturday July 28 the models of Ramps-to-Runway showed their prowess during their annual exams.
MBOMBELA – On Saturday July 28 the models of Ramps-to-Runway were a bit more nervous than usual. But professional and stunning as always, they took to the ramp for their annual group exams.

The exams were held at Southern Sun Emnotweni and the models participated in exams from level one to seven.

They were judged in a variety of categories including cold screen, choreography, introduction/advanced introduction, fashion ramp and evening wear. In the exciting categories “paper and plastic” and “shoe design”, models had the opportunity to make their own outfits out of paper and plastic as well as create fabulous new shoes.
“What makes me proud is that the models go all out to give their best performance. They really enjoy the class projects and designs. I am excited every year to see their designs. These are surely hidden talents that need to be shared with the public,” said Ramps-to-Runway coach, Manda Gomes.

Every year a male and female model of the year is chosen. The 2018 male winner was Shaun Hillicks while the female winner was Kerri-Ann Ley. The winners are determined by their overall class attendance and how well they performed in public.

“To see the transformation, especially when it comes to grooming and etiquette, in each model yearly – is what makes me love what I do,” Gomes said.
