Louise Carver and Ard Matthews team up for concert
The concert was held at The Barnyard.

WHITE RIVER – It was a case of girl- next-door meets bad boy when the award-winning singers and songwriters Louise Carver and Ard Matthews performed on Friday evening.

Carver joked that the show was what you get when you put an A-type like her and a laid-back rocker like Matthews on stage together.

The pair said they were both very excited to be in the Lowveld and during the day they even had the opportunity to visit the Kruger National Park.

Carver said they were there to sing all the songs, both originals and covers, that fans have come to love over the years. “When you sing a song that you wrote it takes you back to the time and place that you wrote it and all that emotion comes back,” Carver said.

Matthews agreed and added, “Thank God for girls who break your heart,” attributing his songwriting to previous heartbreak.

By the sound of their applause and loud cheers the crowd enjoyed the pair immensely, while drinking wine and eating the delicious food on sale.

The Barnyard will also be welcoming comedian Kevin Fraser on April 12. Tickets for this event costs R200 and can be bought at cream-culture.myshopify.com.
