Skhila resident, Katrina Khoza’s (42), prayers have been answered. She received the wheelchair she desired. Net 1 Lydenburg (Easy Pay Everywhere) touched the life of the woman by donating a brand-new wheelchair and a blanket to her last Tuesday. This means the days of Khoza being housebound are now a thing of the past.
“It was so heartbreaking to see Khoza struggling to walk when she came to get her grant money. Today it is an amazing feeling to see her in her new wheelchair,” said Emily Eieman, Net 1 branch administrator.
Eieman told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that Katrina was identified at their pay centre a few months ago and as part of their initiative to help people living with disabilities and those in need they visited her at her home where they handed over the wheelchair. According to Khoza’s daughter,
Zandile, her mother’s situation saddens her and there was nothing they could do as both her grandmother and her mother are disabled.
“At times I had to bunk classes just to ensure they reach the town safely. We are thankful. She can now manoeuvre in the yard. It was a struggle to get around,” said the young lass. Eieman added, “It was bad that the child had to be absent from school just to accompany the mother to receive her
grant because she could not walk.” The Khoza family thanked the company for the generous donation.
