Traffic hike for municipality
The tariff increases for residents in the Thaba Chweu Local Municipality (TCLM) left them reeling from the crunch.

TCLM announced the increase of electricity tariffs for the period July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
The National Energy Regulator of South Africa granted permission to increase tariffs by 14,59%. The North Gauteng High Court approved the increase on February 17 and ordered that an amount of R10 billion be added to Eskom’s allowable revenue in the 2021/22 financial year. The revenue is meant to be collected from tariff-paying customers.
