The victim bled to death after being stabbed in the upper body

A homeless man, estimated to be between 20 to 25 years of age, was fatally stabbed by an unknown suspect who fled the scene on Tuesday October 10 near Valencia Shopping Centre in Mbombela.

According to the provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, the victim was found lying in a pool of blood close to the shopping centre when police and paramedics were alerted.
ER 24 responded to the scene and the man was declared dead as a result of severe bleeding from wounds to his upper body.

“The deceased was identified Vuyo and his address is unknown. The police are appealing to members of the public who can assist with locating his next of kin to visit Nelspruit Police Station. We are also appealing to anyone with information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrator to come forward,” he urged.

Nqawa said that a case of murder was opened and those with information can contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111, alternatively community members can send information via the My SAPS app.
