67 Blankets share Easter joy in White River

67 Blankets for Mandela Day's Easter display will be open to the public for another week or two.

Easter is a special time of year for many, especially for the 67 Blankets for Mandela Day organisation.
For the second year, a giant crocheted Easter egg has been unveiled at Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre in a whimsical fantasy garden. It reflects the hard work of many Lowveld women, who contributed crocheted blocks to create the stunning display.

In addition, the “KnitWits” contributed to Rotary’s Camp Quality by gifting 36 beautifully crafted blankets to children. This year’s display features the Faraway Tree from Enid Blyton’s beloved children’s book series, with bunnies climbing its branches, swinging on swings, and enjoying playful adventures.

Children from Sinani: Sibusiso Kwela, Ayanda Makwakwa, Angel Nkosi, Sarafina Simango, Ayanda Mashego, Thumelo Mshwane; Sinegugu Dube and Martha Mashego.

Even Benjamin Bunny is guarding the giant Easter egg while nibbling on a carrot or two. Painted rocks, a wishing well, a scarecrow, and other delights further enhance the Easter presentation.
The garden will remain open to the public for another week or two.
