Tembisa taxi owner gunned down at his house

The Kempton Park taxi boss was shot in the Welamlambo Section by unknown suspects.


A taxi owner of Kempton Park Taxi Association was shot and killed in his yard at Welamlambo Section on the morning of January 31, Tembisan reports.

Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela said the 69-year-old taxi owner was shot by two unknown suspects.

“According to the information given to the police, the deceased was reversing his silver Toyota Corolla out of his yard when he met his assassins, who were waiting for him next to his gate.”

The deceased sustained multiple wounds on his upper body. It is alleged that a white Toyota Tazz, with an unknown registration number, was seen driving away from the scene after the incident.

The deceased was declared dead on the scene by the paramedics. “No arrests were made at this stage,” said Sekgobela.

Tembisa South police are investigating a murder case and are appealing to anyone with information regarding the suspects to come forward.
