Sihle Bolani is no hero, she just wanted her money – Ntsiki Mazwai

The poet says Bolani should not be hailed as a hero, as she willingly participated in illegal activities, then crying foul because she had not been paid.

The ANC’s ‘war room’ scandal continues to shine a spotlight on all the people who have been fingered as having been involved in a R50 million campaign to push propaganda through social media and other means with the aim of clinching metros in the local government elections held last year.

Sihle Bolani, the PR strategist at the centre of the campaign, has been accused of being less than innocent by poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai. Bolani brought court papers against the ANC to force them to cough up R2.2 million after she was brought on to specialise in public relations.

Though the ANC has disputed this, stating Bolani was a volunteer, she has attached papers proving she was set to be paid for her services after the campaign. Bolani also implicated Shaka Sisulu, while Kay Sexwale was allegedly exposed by Thami Mthimkulu, an ANC cadre who has knowledge of the campaign and said he worked with Sexwale’s team.
